2005 Appealathon Home

Grant Elevators was proud to contribute to the 2005 Zorzi Builders Appealathon Home. Appealathon is a local charity organisation that supports a number of vital Western Australian causes – the proceeds from the 2005 home benefited the Civilian Maimed and Limbless Association of Western Australia and the Paraplegic-Quadriplegic Association of Western Australia.

The 2005 Appealathon Home, located on one of Perth's most prestige river-side streets, Victoria Avenue in Dalkeith, was designed by Eames Architects Pty Ltd.

Future planning was an important consideration in the design of the home, and necessitated the incorporation of a lift to operate between ground level and the upper levels. The master suite and main living areas are located on the upper floor of the residence, which means that the presence of the lift provides the security of ease of movement throughout the house should stairway mobility become an issue in the future.

With this in mind, Grant Elevators recommended the Sprint SP450-E800, a six-passenger lift with sufficient internal space to comfortably accommodate a wheelchair with an accompanying passenger. The advanced power system ensures a rapid response to a passenger's summons, and guarantees a smooth, comfortable ride with barely audible operating noise.

Finished to a very high specification, the Sprint lift sits perfectly with the immaculate finishes and general décor of the house. Rather than minimising the visual impact of the lift and trying to 'hide it away', the aim was to make it an integral aesthetic feature of the home. The final result was exquisite, as timber veneer flowed from the kitchen cabinets through to the wall panels of the lift, while the floor was clad with the same stone tiles used in the kitchen and main living areas, maintaining the harmony of the home's interior design.

By integrating stylishly with its internal surroundings, the lift provided an attractive and practical forward planning solution. This undoubtedly contributed to the immediate success of the 2005 Appealathon Home, with strong interest resulting in an offer and acceptance for the sale of the property before the proposed auction date, much to the delight of the charity. Grant Elevators were commended for 'Exceptional Community Service' for their assistance by the Executive Director of Appealathon.

Grant Elevators are also contributing to the 2009 Zorzi Builders Appealathon Home, which is currently being constructed on Jutland Parade in Dalkeith. The house will be open for viewing once all work is completed.
